Looking for a job ?

What would you do first?

  1. Make a CV

  2. Start searching for roles on Naukri / Linkedin jobs

  3. Click the ‘apply’ button, submit your resume.

  4. and then wait…..

This wait is usually the longest.

You hear back sometimes, and you don’t many a times.

Because this method doesn’t work anymore.

Here are a few steps I will suggest.

  1. Once you have made a robust CV, START WRITING

  2. Yes, start writing on Linkedin. Start to share.

Tell them

✔️ who you are,
✔️ what you can do,
✔️ and what you stand for

LEARN TO TELL YOUR STORIES

↳ How did you handle that difficult project

↳ How did you rebuild a team

↳ How did you took compliances under full control

By writing your experiences, you are clearing the answers for the questions you would normally be asked in an interview. The advantage here is, you can control the narrative.

How do you want to share your experiences, its 100% in your control.

If I search for CFO roles online, you may not find many advertised jobs. However many CFO hirings are underway. They are being hired through

• References

• Linkedin connections

• Networking

As soon as you start to tap into these methods, finding that job becomes much easier.

But, how to get started?

  • Build and optimise your LinkedIn profile

    • Picture

    • Banner

    • About Section

  • Shed the inhibitions

    • What will people think about me?

    • What if they wont like what I write?

    • What is new for me to share which they don’t know already

All of these thoughts will stop you. But still just write and start to share.

More than the QUALITY of what you write, the CONSISTENCY and REGULARITY of your writing matters.

I had the same reservation 3 years ago. Somehow I pushed beyond and continued to write. Today I have

  • Linkedin Top Voice

  • Amazing network of senior professionals

  • Incoming job / interview offers (look at the attached below)

I would strongly encourage you to get started early in 2024.
