FREE Resume Template for CFO / Senior Finance roles

I am not sure about others, but when I was the CFO and if I would have gotten such resumes, I would have rejected the candidates immediately.

The problem:

• 4 pages long resume. Overly detailed. (who has got the time to read)

• Too operational (Filing tax return is not a selling point for senior finance roles. Dont want to see in the resume.)

• Colourful formats. (Yeah, we are finance professionals and would like to keep a subtle and effective resume look. Not like a resume of a creative director or a graphic designer.)

• Graphs and tables. (I need to quickly be able to come to core information on your resume. I need to know what you do, where and what results have you accomplished. I don’t need to see graphs, tables and pie charts. The simpler the better)

• Too much focus on responsibilities. (Simply listing job responsibilities without showcasing the impact and results misses the mark. Employers want to see how you made a difference, not just what you did).

  Resume formats recommended to be used

• Strategic

• Results driven

• 2 pager (max 2.5 pages)

• Simplistic format

• No colours or graphs and pie charts
